Caring for Growing Bodies, Together

Chiropractor gently working with a young girl during a pediatric visitWatching your child come home sore after soccer practice or struggle with discomfort from a heavy backpack can be worrying. Growing bodies work hard, and everyday demands like sports, school, and screen time can sometimes lead to soreness, tension, or postural concerns.

Pediatric care has always been a natural part of Niagara Spine and Sport Therapy. Many of our younger patients first come through the door because their parents already receive care here and want their children to experience the same thoughtful, individualized approach.

Gentle Care for Growing Bodies

Kids are not simply smaller adults, and their chiropractic care should reflect that. Dr. John Strebul uses light, controlled techniques adapted to each child’s size and stage of development. Because children’s spines and joints are still developing, care is tailored to their individual needs and assessment findings.

We see kids of all ages. Common reasons parents bring their children in include sports-related soreness or injuries, growing pains, back and neck discomfort associated with school bags or screen time, posture concerns, headaches, and scoliosis checks during growth spurts.

What to Expect at Your Child’s Visit

For parents who are new to pediatric chiropractic care, knowing what to expect can make the experience easier for everyone.

Dr. John takes time to explain what he is doing before any hands-on care begins. The assessment is thorough while remaining approachable for younger patients, and any chiropractic techniques used are light, controlled, and adapted to the child.

Most kids become comfortable with the process once they know what to expect, and many even look forward to returning for their visits.

Potential Benefits of Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Every child is different, so responses to chiropractic care vary. Depending on your child’s needs and assessment findings, potential benefits may include:

  • Reduced soreness or discomfort
  • Improved mobility
  • Improved posture and movement
  • Greater comfort during everyday activities

Parents may also seek care when soreness or movement concerns are making it harder for their child to participate comfortably in sports and other activities they enjoy.

Caring for Local Families

Pediatric chiropractic care was never a separate addition to the practice for Dr. John. It grew naturally from caring for families.

After 25 years in practice, he has seen parents become long-term patients and then bring their kids in for care. His approach remains the same across generations: listen carefully, understand what is going on, and recommend care based on the individual in front of him.

Born and raised locally, our chiropractor continues to live and practise in the community he serves. For him, helping a young patient move more comfortably and return to the activities they enjoy is one more part of caring for local families.
